a2s Products to Support Climate Change Impact Analysis

Our suite of products is designed to help organizations assess and manage the impacts of climate change through data-driven insights and tailored risk solutions.

Risk Indicator

Risk indicators help assess exposure to physical risks from various perils under current and future climate change scenarios. They are based on location-specific hazards and account for both acute events (such as floods and storms) and chronic climate perils (like long-term temperature and precipitation shifts).

Risk Index

Risk models

Risk indices are designed to evaluate the risks associated with specific asset classes. They are developed by overlaying asset vulnerability with location-specific hazard data to generate a risk score that reflects the exposure of each asset class under both current and future climate change scenarios.

Risk models

Risk models

Risk models are developed using scientific and statistical approaches to understand the relationships between geographic location, geology, climatic variables, and their impact on different asset types. These models enable the estimation of risk from various perils under both current and future climate conditions, supporting informed decision-making and long-term resilience planning.

Climate Change Risk Model

The Climate Change Crop Risk (C3R) model for India estimates crop yields by scientifically analyzing the complex interactions between geographic location, soil conditions, and climatic variables. It evaluates how these factors affect different crop types under current and future climate scenarios, helping stakeholders understand potential risks and make informed decisions to enhance agricultural resilience.

Key Features

  • Covers 28 states and 8 Union Territories across India
  • Aggregates risk at the village level for granular insights
  • Models yield and production for all major crops of both Rabi and Kharif seasons

Approach

The model estimates crops’ energy requirements at different development stages by considering:

  • Location and soil data
  • Daily climatic data
  • Crop management practices

Climate Scenarios

  • Present
  • CMIP6 model projections for SSP2-4.5
  • CMIP6 model projections for SSP5-8.5
